Travel Day: De Leon Springs State Park

Hello! Today is the first entry of my new travel series. The first stop is De Leon Springs State Park, De Leon Springs Florida. This is a beautiful state park that has a rich history. The visitor’s complex has displays of the different eras of the park from early Native American settlement to tourist attraction. The park itself has many activities such as hiking, swimming, canoe and kayak rentals, and a historic/eco boat tour. There is a cypress tree that is believed to be at least 500 years old called the Methuselah tree. Also, there is a plethora of wildlife all around the springs and throughout the trails. We had a great time walking the trails and dipping our feet in the spring. One of the biggest highlights was the Old Spanish Sugar Mill restaurant. At this restaurant, you can have unlimited make-it-yourself pancakes! Toppings are extra, but we had fun cooking our food right in front of us. Peanut butter and chocolate chip pancakes are amazing just saying. We did have to wait 3 hours to be seated because the place is so popular. We just hiked and enjoyed the park until our name was called over a loud speaker. To be honest, we didn’t know where we were going until a little earlier that day so we didn’t prepare much. Despite this, we still had a great day! There is a lot to do at this state park and I will probably go back someday. That is all I have to report today. If you have any suggestions where I should go next in Florida, please write it in the comments below! Thank you for reading! Have an amazing day!

New Travel Series Announcement!

Hello! So I will be starting a weekly series documenting my day trips. I have been wanting to travel and I keep making excuses why I can’t.

  • I work to much.
  • I don’t have much money.
  • It takes time.

While these things are true, they also are just excuses and it doesn’t cost too much to do day trips locally. So I am resolving to travel more even if it’s somewhere less than an hour away.

Oh, also just to let you all know, I live in Florida. So for right now, a majority of these entries will be in my home state. I hope to travel outside Florida a few times this year and those entries will be here as well. If you all have any suggestions where I should go I gladly will take them into consideration!

I will have my first entry of this series tomorrow afternoon. It will be De Leon Springs State Park in De Leon Springs Florida.

Have an amazing day!
